Pressed Flowers is an ongoing assortment of photographs made across the Western and Midwestern United States, exploring how images can act as fragile forms of preservation. Growing up in Powell, Ohio and now living in Denver, I’ve always been drawn to collecting small traces of the world, from rocks and arrowheads to anything that felt significant to it’s surroundings. This same instinct of collecting is what steers my interest in holding onto what can’t truly be kept. Pressed Flowers reflects on the beauty that sometimes becomes visible only when a moment or place is lifted gently out of its environment.
